Erik Jensen was born and raised in northern Minnesota. He graduated, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting, from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992.

His performance in The Bronx Is Burning (2007), as legendary New York Yankee, Thurman Munson, opposite John Turturro, won critical praise.

Notable film credits include The House Is Burning (2006), Serial (2007), and Black Knight (2001). Memorable guest roles include 30 Rock (2006), It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005), Lie to Me (2009), The Good Wife (2009) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001). He appeared as “Ralph” in the Starz series, Gravity (2010), and in the recurring role of “A.D.A. Jeffrey Sinclair” in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000). He is set to appear as “Dr. William Strong” in the NBC pilot, The Frontier, written by Shaun Cassidy and directed by Thomas Schlamme.

In addition to his television and film work as an actor, Erik has appeared off-Broadway in a number of well-received plays, including “Y2K” by Arthur Kopit, “Corpus Christi” by Terrence McNally (both at Manhattan Theater Club), “Spain” at Manhattan Class Company and is scheduled to appear as beat comedian Lenny Bruce in the United States premiere of “Schmucks” at the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia.

In addition to his work as a performer, Erik co-wrote the multi-award-winning, critically-acclaimed play, “The Exonerated”, which ran Off-Broadway in New York City for nearly 2 years and starred Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, Aidan Quinn and Delroy Lindo.

Erik is married to his “Exonerated” co-author, writer/actor Jessica Blank and they are developing (with the support of New York Theater Workshop) a new documentary play, working title “Iraq Refugee Project”. Their adaptation of Blank’s novel, “Almost Home”, is slated to be the first production of Jon Bon Jovi’s new film production company. Jensen and Blank are also writing a project based on the life and work of punk rock journalist Lester Bangs (in conjunction with the Lester Bangs Estate). They live in Brooklyn.
